The End 2024 MULTI.BluRay Magnet
I don’t think I’ve been as excited about a movie as I’ve been in a long time
Synopsis
After decades of loneliness, a rich family living in a salt mine meets a stranger. Joshua Oppenheimer described the film as an exploration of whether we, as humans, can come to a place where our guilt is too great to recover from our past. Oppenheimer’s debut feature was supposed to be an uncompromising and unique vision, but I really haven’t seen anything like it.
Technically, there is sauce in this movie
Obviously, they have no idea how to promote this movie, because Neon is supposed to release it in limited release in December, and there’s still no poster or trailer. I digress, but this movie really inspired me for most of its showing. Really interesting and detailed environment, cinematography and use of lighting are also crucial and work to contextualize the walls.
Weak links – in history and music
While I don’t think the Golden Age musical is a necessary gimmick, I don’t think it’s as fully realized or exploited as they’d hoped. I would say that at least half of the songs that I participated in, but they all sound so similar. Apart from the moments when it seems that the visual effects should match what is happening, it’s just people walking and talking and singing how they feel.
All in all, I really liked this film
And this is a very thematically free film, as if keeping eggs in too many baskets, not revealing anything properly. When he doesn’t scratch the surface of something deep, he can often seem trite. It’s not for everyone, and the guy next to me was so obviously bored, as was my girlfriend, who said she’d probably never watch it again, but she liked it enough.
You can’t put it in a box, and there’s nothing like it that I think deserves a look
Although he is not trying to satisfy any remaining questions you may have, or any larger questions, he is begging you for something and asking, “Have we gone too far or too guilty to recover from our past?”
